In early August 2026, the domestic butanone market price experienced a slight rebound after fluctuating and falling. At the beginning of the month, the domestic butanone market price was weak and declining, gradually approaching a low level. By mid month, the butanone market price had a narrow correction, with an adjustment range of about 50-100 yuan/ton. As of August 13th, the domestic butanone market price reference was around 7500-8500 yuan/ton.

In terms of demand: In early August, the overall performance of downstream demand for butanone was still relatively sluggish, with most downstream purchases being small orders for essential needs. Due to the impact of typhoon weather, transportation was blocked in some areas, and the overall trading atmosphere was relatively quiet. Downstream users’ consumption of raw materials was slow, and the overall new orders in the market were poor, providing limited support for the sustained recovery of the market.
In terms of cost: Currently, the market price of methyl ethyl ketone raw material ether C4 is at a relatively high level, which provides some cost support for methyl ethyl ketone. However, due to the lack of significant improvement support from the demand side, the cost side’s support for market prices is difficult to sustain and bring about a turning point in the market. Therefore, the methyl ethyl ketone market has entered a consolidation operation after a slight rebound, and the driving force for sustained market recovery is still insufficient.
